Balloons are a form of transportation in [[Populous]]. The Balloon can hold only two units. They also assume the color of the [[Tribe]] or [[spy]] that inhabits the balloon. They also make units move more quickly and also enable them to move over water which is otherwise impossible which makes them more effective than [[Boat]]s in traveling. They also take up lesser amounts of [[Wood]] during construction. Opponents' Balloons can be captured if one of your followers is made to sit in their Balloon.

The Balloon also increases the [[Range]] of a [[Shaman]] and [[Firewarrior]], though [[preacher]]s have no effect in balloons. The Balloon also increases the defense of a unit but the [[Shaman]] is more suitable to damage from a [[Firewarrior]] while placed in a Balloon. Although the Balloon is effective against opponent units a simple [[swarm]] can make the followers dismount the Balloon immediately by either drowning them (If the balloon was over water) or making them run crazy when on land.

If no followers or a shaman is placed in the Balloon for certain duration of time Balloon will explode.

This will allow any of your [[Tribes]]men being [[Convert]]ed by the [[Preacher]] to suddenly realise who their real [[Shaman]] is and attack the [[Preacher]] for heresy. Another good way is too send multiple [[Preacher]]s and/or your [[shaman]] over to attack the enemy [[Preacher]] and, the additional [[Preacher]]s can reconvert any of your Tribesmen he Managed to talk over. The last way is to send [[firewarrior]]s after him to attack from a distance.

Most people don't play with [[Preacher]]s in multiplayer, you may sometimes find them already built in new mappacks.

It is possible to [[rush]] the [[Dakini]] by gathering all your starting [[followers]] and quickly heading over to their tribe while [[convert]]ing as much [[wildmen]] as you can without stopping. Kill their [[shaman]] as quickly as possible with [[blasts]] to ensure she does not [[convert]] too many [[wildmen]]. There are quite a few [[wildmen]] on their base that you can [[convert]] while instructing your [[brave]]s to fight the [[Dakini]]. Once the [[Dakini]] is dead it will make the level a whole lot easier. It is possible to [[rush]] the [[Dakini]] by gathering all your starting followers, and quickly head over to their tribe while [[converting]] as much [[wildmen]] as you can without stopping. Kill their [[shaman]] as quickly as possible with [[blasts]] to ensure she does not [[convert]] too many [[wildmen]]. There are quite a few [[wildmen]] on their base that you can [[convert]] while instructing your [[braves]] to fight the [[Dakini]]. You can also use your [[blasts]] to shoot at the [[Dakini]] [[Shaman]]. Once the [[Dakini]] is dead it will make the level a whole lot easier. Just make sure you build up quick as by this time the [[Chumara]] will start sending a few people by [[boat]] with [[Magical Shield]]. Still makes the level a whole lot easier without the [[Dakini]].
