Wildmen also known as 'Wildies' are grey people who walk around surviving on trees and water. You cannot fight them in any way. They are useful you because you can convert them using the Convert spell, but you must do this quickly at the start as the life expectancy is very low. They are terribly weak as well, a single Swarm spell can easily wipe them out and they sometimes accidently fall into the water.

They sometimes get resurrected when a player has had heavy damage well into the game and can reform by using the 'Wildies' that have come back.

They also sometimes get "stuck" between water and land and make players waste their converts. Those fucking savages.

Preachers are created by training Braves or any other Follower in the Temple. When Preachers are standing idle, they worship your name and chant passages from your Holy Scriptures. If an Enemy Follower hears them, they will be entranced and will sit and listen to the Preacher praising your name. After a while, without interruption, the Enemy Follower will be Converted to your cause. Preachers will not perform construction tasks and, although you can command them to guard, they will only preach when an Enemy Follower approaches. They are happiest when extolling your word but do not have any effect on the Enemy Shaman or Preachers.

You will first encounter Preachers on the second level of the game (at least on the PS version) amongst the Chumara tribe. The easiest and most ideal way to combat Preachers is to cast a Swarm spell at him, thus causing him to panic and interrupt his preaching. This will allow any of your Tribesmen being Converted by the Preacher to suddenly realise who their real Shaman is and attack the Preacher for heresy. Another good way is too send multiple Preachers and/or your shaman over to attack the enemy Preacher and, the additional Preachers can reconvert any of your Tribesmen he Managed to talk over. The last way is to send firewarriors after him to attack from a distance.

Most people don't play with Preachers in multiplayer because they are Noobs.

Undisputed2185:

"Doubling" is the term used to describe a player who is attacked by two enemies at the same time. For example, your ally could have fallen and it's just you versus two of your enemies. They're both allies. They both attack you from different sides simultaneously making it extremely hard to fight off and recover from.

Is Doubling Frowned Upon?

It depends. It varies from player to player. Many think that doubling is favoured by noobs. Some see doubling as a quick way of finishing off the enemy and ending the game. However, if two players are to double an opponent they are expected to do it fairly and not to antagonise their target by gloating or insulting them.

Then again, many think (correctly) that the people who complain of doubling are noobs. You should not complain of doubling unless the teams were purposely set to be grossly unfair. Most games are played with teams and if you can't handle doubling then you probably shouldn't be playing. Find a 1v1 game or politely ask for a 1v1. If they say no, deal with it.
