Templates are pages or text which can be included in any other normal page to avoid duplicate text around the wiki and fewer changes. Templates are most commonly Side Information boxes or navigation boxes which appear on the bottom of pages. There are many templates which can use when editing pages. To create your own just follow the normal way of creating pages but add the template prefix (Template:) at the beginning of the template title.

Using Templates

Templates are included by typing the template title with three curly brackets around it. Some templates have parameters which will be added to where they are used in the template for you. To assign a parameter type the parameter name after a vertical line and a equal sign after it. Then type the value your assigning it to after the equal sign. Heres an example of the follower infobox.

{{Infobox People
|Follower=Warrior
|Image=warrior.jpg
}}

Creating Templates

Templates use the same syntax as any other page. However there some extra things you may want to add.

Include and Non-Include

There are two tags to specify if the text should appear only on the pages which include the template or only on the template. An example might be the instructions on how to use the template which should have the no-include tags around so it only appears on the template page.

<noinclude>This text will only appear on the template page.</noinclude>
<includeonly>This text will only show on the pages that include the template.</includeonly>
