A Blue Shaman Sidedooring Using Landbridge

Sidedooring or Sideoor is a technique used very commonly in the Populous Multiplayer. Although it is not used by the computer opponents in the Single Player version of the game the player can choose to Sidedoor the computer opponent if they want to.

It is made to attack and catch the enemy by suprise. It is a very common strategy used among the more experienced players of the Populous Multiplayer. It is constructed by making Landbridge's or Flatten to connect some part of the opponents base. Usaually a Shaman is used to create or defend and attack through a Sidedoor. Annother sidedoor mostly uncommon is by using an alternate route form the map to reach the opponent's base while keeping them busy.

If succesful the Sidedoor could become a critical factor in the game.

Defending Sidedoor's

The most effictive way to defend a Sidedoor from an opponent can be achieved with a Shaman and a few Firewarrior's and Warrior's Sidedoor's can also be defended by placing Firewarriors in Guard Tower's or making them guard around the Sidedoor. Warrior's can also be used to fend off enemy attacks from Firewarrior's or Warrior's.

Should I Sidedoor?

Unless agreed before the game, yes. It can turn the tables of a fight, but beware, you may be doubled while attackingf your enemy through the side by both enemies. You have no right to complain if they do, what they're doing is at the same level as what you are.
