Balloons are essentially hotair balloons that can carry two followers. Built at the Balloon Huts. Can traverser all terrain quickly and are only vulnerable to spells, firewarriors and the Angel of Death. Best used by your shaman or firewarriors.
A degree of caution with your shaman is required, as two joint blasts from a firewarrior will kill knock her out of the balloon, upon which she'll make a pretty colour on the floor when she lands. Also beware of lava from the Volcano and the Swarm spell, as these can cause your followers within the balloon to panick and flee (often resulting in their deaths).
