This is the forth level in Populous The Beginning and the first level where the enemy attacks you with an army and shaman. Three parts of this level are shown in the Rolling Demo. Also, a modified version is present in the demo called Eye of the Storm which has two Vaults: one Lightning, one Tornado and a Stone Head with Firestorm.

Starting Speech

"We face a great threat. The Matak are massing against us. I need the power of Lightning to defeat them, but Preachers are guarding their Vault of Knowledge."

Setting

This is the forth level in Populous, you face the Matak tribe for the second time in Single Player. You start on a large island sharing with the Matak tribe. There is an attached circle of land which has a Vault of Knowledge on it and further away, a Stone Head giving you a taster session for Convert.

Through the hills is a Vault of Knowledge guarded by several warriors. Then there are two passages to the Matak settlement.

Strategy

First send your shaman to the Vault of Knowledge to claim the Guard Tower, meanwhile send a brave to worship the nearby Stone Head. Once you have Guard Tower build it in the middle and then huts around it. The enemy will come with small armys and strike your towers or huts with Lightning.

You can preach the warriors guarding the Vault of Knowledge then worship it with your shaman. Once you have it, send an army to kill the Matak settlement.

Rushing

It is possible to rush by gathering all your starting followers, and rush the enemy. Try and stop them from building training huts and you should be able to win.
